Wednesday's Brian Teaser

I can't wait to see the Twins new stadium. The open air, the smell of the food from the concession stands, and all the elements...it is gonna be sweet!

I was 8 years old when I saw my first Twins game in the Dome. Name the opponent that the Twins played against in my inaugural experience to baseball.

Hint: The team was another American League team.

Prize to the winner!

  1. I'm gonna take a shot that this is a trick question. The Brew Crew didn't move to the NL until 1998, so I'm going with the Milwaukee Brewers.

  2. No. This team is still in the AL. Nice trivia, Jim!

  3. I'll take one final shot and go with one of the oldest franchises in all of baseball.

    Detroit Tigers

  4. Nice guess...not the correct answer. You are close!

Another hint...They were both in the AL West at the time (now, they are in the AL Central).

  5. Make that the Kansas City Royals. I need spellcheck!

  6. Yes! Way to go, Jim! The great George Brett played in that game; however, the first memory I have of a baseball player from that game is Kent Hrbek. I remember him hitting left handed at the plate. He hit a home run in the game.

    Great job, Jim!

  7. When I was a senior in high school I played for St Louis Park and Kent Hrbek was a junior playing for Bloomington Kennedy. I remember playing them and watching Herbie hit a home run like none I'd ever seen before in high school. The thing had to go over 400 feet. Our whole team was in awe...
