There are two reasons that Paul could have written in large letters. One, Paul had poor eyesight and had a hard time viewing his letter to the Galatians and two, Paul used large letters to emphasize what his next point was about to be. The second reason is the reason most use. Paul, if he was typing this letter as an email to the Galatians, would have enlarged the size, bolded it, and double underlined it because he wanted the people of Galatia to really understand that a person should not boast in their circumcision, but boast in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. Also, when Paul states that he is writing with his own hand means exactly that. He literally wrote this letter. Some of Paul’s letters were written by secretaries. Although they were Paul’s thoughts (guided by the Holy Spirit of course), he didn’t actually write the letter. By Paul writing this letter to the Galatians with his own hand in large letters proves that Paul cared for the Galatians and he didn’t want them to miss out on the point that people shouldn’t boast in their flesh, but in Jesus Christ!

    Thanks, Matt. Great job!
