I am teaching this new song by Chris Tomlin this Sunday. We had an awesome time rehearsing it this past Wednesday. I think this song has amazing potential.

Becoming a better Electric Guitarist
Ben Gowell plays for Paul Baloche and Sara Groves. He is now on tour with Michael W. Smith (so he knows a thing or two about electric guitars).
Ben gives some great tips on becoming a better electric guitar player and better musician. I am not an electric guitar player; however, I learned something from what he said about growing in my appreciation for all kinds of music. In listening to different styles of music, I will become an overall better musician.

Hallelujah
Yesterday, we did Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah as an opening to the service. Many people tie the song with Shrek; however, we combined Lee Dewyze's style with Lincoln Brewster's lyrics.
A soloist sang the original verse 1 and chorus with only a light on the cross (the stage was black). When we started v2 (Brewster's lyrics), the lights went up, everyone stood, and we all sang out to God.
I thought it was a perfect intro to the service. The band nailed it, the church worshiped, and the rest of the service was set up nicely by that song.
